Subject: RE: 15 year old guy
Hi Mark,
I'm sorry that your young listeners are being represented by some guy
with no foresight. I'm 17, and obviously those two extra years have made a
big difference on the way I view drug use. I have a very good friend who has
been using drugs more and more frequently over the past few months. He
started out with pot, progressed to shrooms, and is planning on trying
e, acid, etc. .
Maybe it's my position as the sober "drug babysitter", with many hours
of watching smart guys tripping, that has given me such insight into this
guy's idea of his so-called enlightenment.

How
rock'n'roll fell out of love with drugs
Young musicians today are more
likely than those of previous generations to decry the
harm that drugs can cause, according to research in
America.
The study, based on an analysis of drug lyrics in
English-language popular music since the 1960s, was last
week highlighted as one of the few pieces of good news
in the annual survey by the European monitoring centre
for drugs and drug addiction, the EU's drugs agency.

LET'S GET TO the
heart of the matter: I did not, at any time, get a
wheelbarrow full of little joy pills from my housekeeper. I
don't even have a housekeeper. I do, however, have
the pills. For the past nine years, I've been addicted to
the same drug as Rush Limbaugh.
OxyContin is a time-release capsule
containing the active ingredient oxy-codone, which also goes
into Percoset and Darvoset. The time-release Oxy- Contin
version doesn't have a quick peak high. It offers a steady
level of pain relief over a long time, which makes it ideal
for chronic pain.

Vicodin's euphoria can extract a
price, and Limbaugh may be paying for it.

Just when really serious things like war, disease and a
bummer economy threaten to make the media business a rather
dreary realm, enter the downfall by drugs of Rush Limbaugh. The
drama has spawned comparisons (he's the "new Elmer Gantry"),
compassion (he's an addict and we should show mercy even if he
didn't show it to others) and vengeful rebuke (talk about
hypocrisy!). Yet the truth about Limbaugh's fall may be more
mundane than anyone wants to admit, Limbaugh included.(Free Registration Req'd)
