Dear Mark
My wife just told me about your web
page and I must say I'm impressed. I to have quit. Two years ago July 10 my
wife and I took a trip to the outer banks in North Carolina. This is a
longer story than I thought. Anyways this is my second family and I was about
to lose the most wonderful lady in the world because of drinking and smoking
pot. I have my own business and it was going to pot. So I had decided that
when we go away i would do it. I asked my wife to book us into no smoking
rooms because I also smoked 2 packs a day.

Huffing and puffing, anti-smokers go
too far
|
I'll make
this as clear as I can.
I hate
smoking. Always have. It probably doesn't help that my
parents, both smokers, died of cancer but truth is, I was no
fan of the habit even before that. From the time I was a
small boy, I considered smoking the filthiest custom
imaginable. |

Alcohol and Smoking: Why They Go
Together
|
A recent
study found that nicotine is especially rewarding in smokers in
recovery from alcoholism |
|
It’s no
secret that "smokers drink and drinkers smoke." In fact, the
heaviest drinkers are also the heaviest smokers. According to
information provided by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and
Alcoholism, between 80 and 95 percent of alcoholics smoke cigarettes, a
rate that is three times higher than among the population as a
whole.

TRAFFIC / **** (R)
BY ROGER EBERT
|
O
ur laws against illegal drugs function as a price support
system for the criminal drug industry. They do not stop
drugs. Despite billions of dollars spent and a toll of
death, addiction, crime, corruption and lives wasted in
prison, it is possible today for anyone who wants drugs to
get them. "For someone my age," says a high
school student in the new film "Traffic,"
"it's a lot easier to get drugs than it is to get
alcohol."

Prohibition
Fever
A
legacy project for the W. era.

What
do guns, drugs, and alcohol have in common? They are all
highly portable, highly prized by many people, despised by
others, and can be abused. Each has been the object of
societal sanctions. As we head into the new millennium, with
a new president who promises to reduce the unintended harms
caused by government, it is time for America to recognize
some lessons about prohibition.
